Neutron activation analysis was applied to the determination of silver. After a sample was irradiated in the nuclear reactor JRR-1 at a neutron flux of about 3 x 10/sup 11/ neutrons per sq cm per sec for 30 sec, gamma scintillation spectrometry was employed. The coefficient of variation of single analyses for 1 g of silver was less than 3%. Contents of 1 ppm of silver in lead, 1 to 15 ppm in bismuth, and 22 ppm in zinc sulfide were determined. (auth)
