S>The method of determination of selenium in sulfur and sulfur compounds was studied. In the method, sample (2 approximates 0.1 gram) is placed for 20 seconds in the nuclear reactor JRR-1 to be irradinted by neutrons nt a flux of 3 x 10/sup 11/ neutrons per sq. cm per second. Induced activity is measured by a 256 channel gamma scintillation spectrometer. Counting operation consists of two parts. At the first courting operation, one half of the channels are used, and at the second time the rest of the channels are used. Each counting time is 20 seconds. From the photopeaks in the gamma spectrogram, selenium is determined. The selenium contents ranging from 10/sup 2/ to 10/sup -2/ ppm were determined. The coefficient of variation of single analyses is estimated at about 10% for a few micrograms of selenium. (auth)
