EXTRACTION OF CESIUM TETRAPHENYL BORATE FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS WITH NITROBENZENE (in German)

The extraction of cesium tetraphenyl borate with nitrobenzene was investigated in dependence on the concentration of sodium, ammonium, iron(III), aluminum, and uranyl salts, equilibrium pH of the aqueous phase, and reagent mass in the system. The extraction was used for the separation of Cs/sup 137/ from several long-lived fission products. A semi-quantitative theory of some observed dependencies was proposed and confirmed, and approximate values of the corresponding constants were calculated. (tr-auth)
