The extraction of cesium dipicrylaminate from aqueous phases by binary mixtures of nitrobenzene with another solvent was investigated. It was established that nitrobenzene is the best solvent for the extraction of several Cs compounds. These data were explained qualitatively by the solvation properties of the nitrobenzene with respect to the cesium ions. The solubility of the sodium and cesium dipicrylaminates in some organic solvents was determined, and the distribution of the cesium and rubidium dipicrylaminate between water and nitrobenzene was followed.
