A PRESSURE IONIZATION CHAMBER FOR $gamma$-RADIATION MEASUREMENTS (in German)

Journal Article · · A E G Mitt.
OSTI ID:4714128
For the industrial gamma radiation, a detector was constructed that converts the thickness and density-dependent gamma radiation directly into an electric current. The Ar-filled tube responds readily to small radiation differences and is able to measure small variations in thickness or density. A definite proportionality factor exists between the saturation current, I/sub k/ in amp, and dosage rate, D in Mr/hr, so that I/sub k/= K/sub k/. D, where K/sub k/ is the chamber constant. Characteristics values of the ionization chamber and specifications for its construction, size, material, and chamber constant, are given. (P.C.H.)
