IONIZATION CHAMBER FOR MEASURING ENERGIES OF FAST NEUTRONS (in Russian)

A proton recoil ionization chamber filled with argon and hydrogen mixtures is described. The pulse spectra appearing in neutron bombardment at 2.1, 2.25, 2.5, and 5 Mev were determined. The resolving power at 3 Mev is plus or minus 6%. The deveioped calculations and experimental data were not in agreement due to neutron energy losses on the walls and construction materials. An expression was developed for the amplitude spectra. The formula was verified at 2 to 3 Mev. (tr-auth)
