QUANTITATIVE POPULATION GENETICS OF MICE UNDER IRRADIATION. Progress Report, July 1, 1962-June 30, 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4713145
>Populations of mice were propagated by selected inbreeding after gonadal irradiation with doses of 0, 50, and 100 r for several generations. Data from populations representing all combinations of radiation exposure and inbreeding were analyzed for radiation effects on longevity and reproductive performance. A study was also made of the genetic basis for differences in radiosensitivity of mice of different strains. Preliminary data are included from a study of genetic extinction due to gonadal irradiation and the genetic factors involved in resistance to chronic whole-body irradiation in mice. (C.H.)
