Four groups of Drosophila melanogaster males were injected with C/sup 14/ and H/sup 3/ labeled DNA precursors. In one group the males were injected as larvae. In three other groups and in a control group all males were injected 6 to 24 hours after emergence from the pupal case. In the control group a nonlabeled DNA precursor was used. Dominant lethals measured as the frequency of non-hatched eggs seemed not to be induced by the amount of radioactivity used, There was, however, a significant increase in the frequency of sex-linked recessive lethals. There are indications that the highest frequency of lethals are induced in the sperm that are available for insemination 12 to 13 days after injection. (P.C.H.)
