A magnetic resonance device is designed for measuring weak magnetic fields. The device comprises a container with a solution consisting of a solvent of nonzero gyromagnetic ratio and a paramagnetic solute of stationary hyperfine structure with a narrow electronic resonance line, means for saturating the resonance line and for creating a rotary magnetic field perpendicular to the field being measured, and means for determining the resonance frequency.
