An additional high-vacuum, tantalum-tube resistance heating furnace under construction was completed and tested for performance. The Nb--W-- Hf alloys are being currently homogenized and will be isothermally annealed at W-- Zr system was initiated. A continued but diminishing amount of effort is being expended on the Nb-Al-- Zr system. The hardness data for the ternary alloys annealed at 1100 deg C were modified after reexamination. (P.C.H.)
