DOUBLE COULOMB EXCITATION IN EVEN NUCLEI

Calculations on double Coulomb excitation in even nuclei are reported. The semi-classical approximation is applied to second order perturbation theory. Electric quadrupole excitations of the form 0/sup +/ (E2) 2/sup +/ (E2) J/sup +/, J = 0, 2, 4 are treated. It is assumed that only one intermediate state is important. (auth)
