RADIOINDUCED RADIATION PROTECTION MATERIALS (in German)

Journal Article · · Z. Naturforsch
OSTI ID:4699626
If B. coli are irradiated on agar, which was previously irradiated, it was established that in the coli cells there exists an antagonism between the direct radiation and the active materials originating from the agar. The action of the agar under the influence of radioinduced protective ma, terials is comparable with the action of known chemically stable protective materials since they only protect from the results of direct irradiation if they are present in the bacteria before direct irradiation. They possess, in agar, an average lifetime of 30 to 60 sec and in the coli cells, after they are absorbed, they also possess an average lifetime of 30 to 60 sec. (tr-auth)
