GAMMA RAY COINCIDENCE STUDIES ON THE DECAY OF Dy$sup 16$$sup 5$
An investigation is performed of the gamma ray coincidence relations in the decay of Dy/sup 165/ to Ho/sup 165/. The 621 kev gamma ray was observed to be in coincidence with the 95 and 280 kev transitions, confirming the existence of the suggested level at 716 kev. The 1056 and 1080 kev gamma rays were found to de-excite levels of the corresponding energies in Ho/sup 165/. An upper limit is obtained for the intensity of the gamma rays depopulating the 995, 1056, and 1080 kev levels to the 95 kev rotational state. The de-excitation of these levels is also examined using a sum coincidence technique. The nuclear level scheme of Ho/sup 165/, based on the recent studies on the decays of Dy/sup 165/ and Er/sup 165/ and on the Coulomb excitation of Ho/sup 165/, is discussed in the view of the results of the measurements.
