Measurements of the vibrational Raman intensities for the /sub 1/( alpha /sub 1/) modes of CD/sub 4/, CF/sub 4/, SiF/sub 4/, SF/sub 6/, SeF/sub 6/, and TeF/sub 6/ (all in the gaseous state) relative to the /sub 1/( alpha /sub 1/) mode of CH/sub 4/ are reported. Values of derived bond polarizabilities are calculated and discussed. (auth)
