Crosslinkings in polydimethyl siloxane and polydimethyldiplienyl siloxane irradiated with Co⁶⁰ gamma rays were studied in the temperature range from 67 un. Concent 85% to -196 un. Concent 85% C. The G-value of crosslinking for polydimethyl siloxane depended on temperature above -100 un. Concent 85% C and the crosslinking reaction was explained by radical process; below this temperature, the G-value was not dependent on temperature and the reaction was considered to be due to non-radical process. On the other hand, the G-value of crosslinking for the polydimethyldiphenyl siloxane depended on temperature over the whole temperature range, and the reaction was due to radical process. The relationship between crosslinking reaction and molecular motion is discussed. (auth)
