TWO METHODS TO DETERMINE Co$sup 60$ DISINTEGRATION RATE

Journal Article · · Nucleonics (U.S.) Ceased publication
OSTI ID:4696539
Two methods for determining the absolute activity of Co/sup 60/ sources are described. An improved BETA - gamma coincidence method gives disintegration rates accurate to plus or minus 2% with precision of plus or minus 1%. The other method, based on the coincidence analysis of single crystal gamma spectral data, gives disintegration rates about 2% less than the preceding method. Theory and procedures are discussed.
