DETERMINATION OF THE ABSOLUTE DISINTERGRATION RATE OF Cs$sup 137$ -SOURCES BY THE TRACER METHOD

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4680256
>Cs/sup 137/ sources were absolutely measured by the tracer method,'' with Br/sup 82/ as a tracer nuclide and with application of the 4 pi BETA -- gamma coincidence technique. A self-absorption of 6% was found in sources obtained from a solution with a carrier-content of 400 mu g/ml. The precision of the method for the determination of the BETA -emission rate was estimated to plus or minus 1%. The results were compared with those of other works. (auth)
