A STUDY OF THE $gamma$-RAYS CORRESPONDING TO THE 1308 kev RESONANCE IN THE Si$sup 29$(p,$gamma$)P$sup 30$ REACTION (in Russian)

Monoenergetic protons, and an isotopic target of Si/sup 29/ were used to study the 1308-kev resonance, for which the spectrum, and angular distribution of rays were determined. Standard spectra shapes for definite lines were studied in order to resolve the complex spectrum. The angular distribution of rays for the most intense transition (54%) from the 6.827-Mev resonance level to the first, excited, 0.684-Mev state was used to determine the spin and parity of the resonance level. The final state has a spin and parity of 0/sup +/, while the angular distribution is isotropic. Hence, a spin and parity of I/sup ceramic materia /= 1/sup +/ was assigned to the 6.827- Mev resonance level. A decay scheme is presented for the P/sup 30/ resonance state having an excitation energy of 6.827 Mev. An analysis of the decay scheme and of the observed transitions showed that the isotopic spin T = 0. The 2.94-Mev state of P/sup 30/ with a spin and parity of 2/sup +/ goes by transition to the first, excited, 0.684-Mev level with a greater relative probability (10%), than to the ground state of P/sup 30/ with a spin and parity of In= 1/sup +/ ( ontrol migra- 2%). Such behavior indicated that this state in P/sup 30/ is rotational in nature. (TTT)
