An investigation was made of BF/sub 3/ counters, especially with regard to obtaining a high constancy of experimental procedure, on the basis of which a probe for moisture measurements in loose materials could be constructed. With this probe, results were obtained from measurements on molding sand in a foundry. (tr-auth)
