A neutron moisture measurenient probe with Po-Be source and Cd-covered gamma counting tube (Cd-probe) was built. Experimental investigations of the optimal dimensions of the probe showed that the lead shield between the neutron source and neutr-on detector must amount to 6 cm and that the use of paraffin moderator is recommended for- low moistures. As a comparison critera for calibration curves, the measurement time was introduced. The developed measurement probe is suited for moisture determination in sand, in sand-lime masses, in foam silicate, and with limitations also in log wood. In addition, of course, in most cases a density measurement is necessary. (tr-auth)
