Because of the increasing necessity of the detection and measurement of thermal neutrons, the Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires of Saclay has perfected a method for making BF/sub 3/ counters. A detailed description for making and filling these counters is given. The device used for testing the counters is also described, and the characteristics of the counter are discussed. (tr-auth)
