The separation of aluminum chlorides from aqueous ether solutions by precipitation using water and moist ether solutions is evaluated. The preparation of aluminum chloride with ether at dry ice temperatures is described. The reaction of diethyl ether with aluminum chloride is discussed. Techniques for the purification of hydrobromic acid are evaluated. (N.W.R.)
