REACTOR PLANT CONTAINER INTEGRITY TEST. Test Evaluation. Core 1, Seed 3

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4691882
Test procedures were given for determining whether the modified 48-inch butterfly valves of the reactor plant container air cooling system operate satisfactorily and maintain their leak rate integrity. The modified 1C and 1D supply valves performed satisfactorily and maintained their leak rate integrity throughout the entire test period. The modified 1A and 1B exhaust valves, however, required packing replacement at the upper shaft of the 1B valve, adjustment of the 1A valve seat, and tightening of both upper shaft packing glands before the leak rate integrity was restored to the initial value. The modifications made to the new valves considerably reduced the time required to make adjustments to the neoprene valve seats. (auth)
