BS>The construction of a magnetic double resonance spectrometer for weak magnetic fields is described. With this instrument resonance lines can be measured with or without simultaneous excitation of electron resonances. The increase of proton resonance by dynamic polarization can be observed directly. The high sensitivity that is needed for weak magnetic fields was obtained with a side-band modulation technique. The dynamic polarization of solutions of the free radical K/sub 2/(SO/sub 3/)/sub 2/NO in magnetic fields between 0.5 and 5 oersteds is studied. The Overhausereffect was measured in various oil samples for 20 oersteds. The results are discussed in detail. (Gmelin Inst.)
