NUCLEAR POWER PLANT WITH A HETEROGENEOUS REACTOR PROVIDED WITH PRESSURE TUBES

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4691539
A nuclear power plant is described with a heterogeneous nuclear reactor and a core which is provided with pressure tubes through which steam as working medium is made to flow. The steam is superheated as it passes through the reactor core. One part of the superheated steam flows to a steam generator to give up some of its heat while the rest of the steam is recirculated through the core to be further superheated and afterwards fed into a power plant, e.g., a turbine. The pressure tubes within the core are divided into two groups of which the first one is located in the central zone and is for superheating the steam entering from the steam generator, and the second one is located in the outer parts of the core and is for further superheating that part of the steam which after passing the central zone is recirculated through the core and which is fed into the turbine.
