ACTIVATION ANALYSIS FOR COPPER ORE SORTING (in German)

Journal Article · · Kerntechnik (West Germany) Merged with Atomkernenergie to form Atomkernenerg./Kerntech.kyu Hokoku
OSTI ID:4688216
Activation analysis of irradiated copper are particles (5 x 10/sup 10/ n/ cm/sup 2//sec can be carried out in a laboratory scale sorting device. The activated pieces drop through a plastic scintillation detector which counts the Cu/sup 64/annihilation gamma radiation and evaluates copper content. A flipping gate is operated according to copper counting results which deviates each mineral piece into tailings or concentrate. An error introduced by the varying size of pieces in a certain size fraction can be eliminated by scanning overall activity. (auth)
