A restrictor for a vertical coolant channel of a gascooled reactor is patented. The removable restrictor is forced against a fixed location member and held in position by the static pressure around the restrictor, the static pressure from the downward component of the momentum force of the gas stream, and the weight of the restrictor. The restrictor does not need a mechanical locking device and can be removed or replaced by straightforward grab apparatus. (M.P.G.)
