Synthesis of L -arabinose-5-C 14

route: D-xylose yields D-gulono-1,4-lactone-1-C14 yields 2,3: 5,8,4-lactone-1-C14 yields 2,3tone-1-C14 yields 3,4- Oisopropylidene-2,5- L-arabino-urono-lactone-5- C14 yields methyl- alpha , BETA - L-arabinofuranosido-methyl uronate-5-C14 yields methyl- alpha , BETA - L-arabinofuranoside-5-C14 yields L-arabinopysed in the first step. The structures of the isopropylidene derivatives of c-gulono-lactone were clarified.
