The Mg-Th-Mn alloy with 2 to 3% Th and 0.6to 1% Mn was alloyed by additions of Zr, Ca, La. Ni, Ce, and Nd, reduced by hydraulic press by 90% at 420 deg C, quenched from 550 deg C, and artificially aged at 200 deg C for 16 hr. The effects of the alloying elements and work hardening occurring during heat treatment on yield strength, tensile strength, relative elongation, and microstructure were measured at 300 deg C. The influence of Ce concentration on phase formation was also studied. (Rev. Metal Lit., 20: No. 1, Jan.
