The Angular Distribution of 1.79 MeV Neutrons Scattered from Helium

The angular distribution of 1.79 plus or minus 0.05 Mev neutrons scattered from He4 was measured in an effort to settle a discrepancy in the phase shifts. The laboratory angular range 25 to 135 deg was covered. The results are compared with differential cross sections computed from the phase shifts of Dodder and Gammel and Demanins et al., and the data are seen to agree best with the former.
