COMPTON EFFECT ON RELATIVISTIC ELECTRONS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF OBTAINING BEAMS OF HARD $gamma$-QUANTA (in Russian)

The possibility of obtaining beams of hard gamma quanta as a result of the Compton effect on relativistic electrons is considered. It is shown that the photon energy distribution should significantly differ from the bremsstrahlung spectrum and that at comparatively small energies of the scattered photons, relatively monoenergetic hard gamma quanta are produced. The fluxes of gamma quanta thus produced are comparable to the corresponding values for the bremsstrahlung radiation. (auth)
