POLARIZATION PHENOMENA IN THE COMPTON EFFECT FOR A MOVING ELECTRON AND THE POSSIBILITY OF OBTAINING BEAMS OF POLARIZED $gamma$-QUANTA (in Russian)

The polarization of gamma quanta produced as a result of Compton scattering of soft photons on relativistic electrons is considered. It is shown that the degree of polarization of the indicated photons may approach 100% in the case of photons scattered at a given azimuthal angle as well as in the case of averaging of the polarization states over the angle. For this reason Compton scattering of relativistic electrons may be used as an effective method for obtaining polarized gamma quanta. (auth)
