Problems of assembly and preliminary testing of the various portions of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) loop are discussed. Topics covered include: refinements in design and instrumentation, safety considerations, conductivity probes, microwave diagnostics for MHD plasma, argon purge and cooling system for return bend, compatibility of tantalum and cesium, motor section power supply, motor and generator magnets, some generator losses, cesium feed and bleed apparatus test, and Hall voltage guard electrodes.
