TRANSISTORIZED DIGITAL RATEMETER: AN INSTRUMENT FOR FOLLOWING RAPID COUNTING RATE VARIATIONS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4671331
A ratemeter was developed, which has good characteristics of reliability, stability and precision due to the use of transistor digital circuity The instrument is essentially a binary scaler, having 15 transistor binaries, which count the input pulses. Periodically the information in the last 8 binaries is transferred to a memory constituted of 8 more binaries and the scaler is reset to zero. Three types of circuits are used: saturated binary, saturated Nor, and unlvibrators. The scaler, transfer circuit, and memory can be checked with a built-in crystal oscillator. (M.C.G.)
