Changes in the red blood of chicks became evident after whole-body irradiation by a dose as small as 1 r. Macrocytosis became evident in the irradiated group during the initial period. In the white blood the number of lymphocytes was especially depressed and was the only cause of leucopenia. Tetracycline in combination with folic acid and vitamin B/sub 12/ exerted a negative effect on the number of lymphocytes. Total plasma protein content was slightly increased after a temporary fall. A delayed compensatory effect was noted after the use of the complex preparations. The latter also inhibited gamma- globulin transformation. (Referativnyy Zhurnal, Biologicheskaya Khimiya, No. 8,
