The computer program Louise I, which calculates the criticality, constant and the critical flux of a reactor in the few group diffusion approximation in one dimension, is described. The program uses an iteration variable technique but is operatively as efficient as programs using finite difference methods. The Fortran listing of the program is included. (D.C.W.)
