Progress is reported in studies on the effect of wholebody x irradiation on phospholipids of rat liver mitochondria. The in vivo incorporation of P/sup 32/ into phospholipids of lipid mitochondria was measured in irradiated and nonirradiated rats. Methods are described for the fractionation and analysis of solubilized liver mitochondria. Results show that x irradiation induces an increase of total lipid phosphorus of rat liver mitochondria and an increase in incorporation of P/sup 32/ into mitochondrial phospholipids. (C.H.)
