SELF-DECOMPOSITION OF C$sup 14$-LABELLED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS: A REVIEW OF THE LITERATUE

The literature on the self-decomposition of C/sup 14/-labeled organic compounds was reviewed. Factors causing selfdecomposition and methods of reducing or minimizing this effect are discussed. Equations are given for calculating absorbed dose, percent decomposition, and G-values. All data were recalculated on a common basis so that they may be compared. In general, no attempt was made to consider the behavior of the various compounds when subjected to different forms of external radiation, as this has been adequately covered in other reviews. (auth)
