About 2 approximates 3 mC of S/sup 35/ can be obtained by irradiating 10 g of hexachlorobenzene for 20 hr continuously in the TRIGA Mark II reactor now operating in Korea. The neutron flux was about 0.7 x 10/sup 12/ n/cm/sup 2//sec at the rotary specimen rack and about 4.0 x 10/sup 12/ n/cm/sup 2//sec at the central thimble. The neutron reaction proposed for the production is Cl/sup 35/ (n,p)S/sup 35/. The proposed separation method gives a yield of 90% in the form of H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/ and 99% radiochemically pure. (OID)
