Journal Article · · Appl. Optics
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1364/AO.2.001013· OSTI ID:4630972
Electronic flash tubes may be used to illuminate cloud chambers in order to freeze particles in motion and obtaln sharp, clear photographs without blurring the image. Introductory theory of flash tubes is given, and the illumination of 120 x 150 x 80 cm cloud by four 132-cm flash tubes is described. A total energy of 58,800 W-sec is used. (auth)
