TRANSISTORIZED AMPLIFIER FOR ALPHA SPECTROSCOPY WITH THE AID OF p-n COUNTERS (in Russian)
The characteristics of a transistorized amplifier are described. The amplifier is designed for use in alpha spectroscopy employing p- n type counters. Circuit diagrams are shown for an impedance transformer and the amplifier itself. The amplifier circuit has a high-frequency corrector added to it. The Po/sup 210/ alphas (E/sub alpha / = 5.301 Mev) are displayed taken with a single-channel analyzer and the transistorized amplifier, and sigma for the polonium alpha peak was found to be 0.78%. A signal from a generator is also shown, and the noise of the system was found to be 26 kev, which corresponds to a noise charge of 1.2 X 10/sup -15/ coulombs. Since the capacity of the amplifier is small (less than 1.5 pf) the noise level of the system caa be decreased by using a p--n counter with a small capacity. The noise of the amplifier itself is found to be less than 17.7-kev which corresponds to a noise charge of 8.1 x 10/sup -16/ coulombs. (TTT)
