SPIN OF THE Pr$sup 144$ GROUND STATE. BETA-DECAY MEASUREMENTS ON Ce$sup 144$ AND Pr$sup 14$$sup 4$

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters
It is shown that the spectrum shape and directional correlation results of the Pr/sup 144/ decay are unable to determine uniquely the spin value of the ground state of this nucleus. The characteristics of the internal beta branch in the decay of Ce/sup 144/ leading to the 133-kev state of Pr/sup 144/ were investigated. A beta-gamma directional correlation measurement on the beta-(133 kev) gamma cascade of Ce/sup 144/ was undertaken to distinguish between alternative spin assignments. (R. E. U.)
