EFFECTS OF ZIRCONIUM AND TIN ON TITANIUM OXIDATION STABILITY (in Russian)

Oxidation resistance of Ti- Zr-Sn alloys was studied at resistance of Ti were investigated. It was found that Ti with up to 60% Zr has high oxidation resistance at 500 deg C. Additions of Sn inhibit oxidation resistance at 700 and 800 deg C, however, at 1000 deg C additions of 12 to 14% Sn to Ti-- Zr improve oxidation resistance. Additions of Zr to Ti alloys with 5 to 15% Sn inhibit their oxidation resistance at high temperatures, however, alloys with identical contents of Zr but increased amount of Sn exhibit strong oxidation resistance.
