Electrochemical and corrosion behavior of Zr--Ti alloys in sulfuric acid solutions at 40, 60, and 100 deg C was analyzed. The corrosion resistance of Zr-- Ti alloys becomes low in 80% sulfuric acid due to the low stability of Zr. Additions of Zr/sup +4/ slow or inhibit the rate of Zr corrosion depending on the amount of admixture, concentration, and temperature of the sulfuric acid solution. (R.V.J.)
