THE REACTION Ti$sup 46$(p,n)V$sup 46$(/cap beta/$sup +$)Ti$sup 4$$sup 6$

The Ti/sup 46/(p,n)V/sup 46/ reaction and the subsequent BETA /sup +/ decay of the odd and selfconjugate nucleus V/sup 46/ were investigated at 8--10 Mev. Excitation curves obtained from the measurement of the intensity of the induced V/sup 46/ activity were illustrated. From the ground state (p,n) threshold energy a Qvalue of --7.844 plus or minus 0.009 Mev and a maximum BETA /sup +/ energy of 8.059 plus or minus 0.009 Mev were calculated. The level scheme for Ti/sup 46/ and a tentative level scheme including spin, parity, and isobaric spin assignments for V/sup 46/ were presented. (C.E.S.)
