SUBCUTANEOUS RESORPTION OF THYROXINE AND 3,5,3' -TRIIODO-L-THYRONINE IN THE NORMAL RAT AND IN THE RAT EXPOSED TO LETHAL X RADIATION (in French)

The velocity of the resorption of thyroxine, 3,5,3,triiodo-L-thyronine, and NaI after subcutaneous injection was studied in normal white male rats and in rats exposed to a whole-body lethal x radiation. NaI was resorbed much more rapidly than thyroxine (T/sub 4/) and the thyronine (T/sub 3/). The triiodated hormone has a resorption velocity slightly higher than that of its tetraiodated homolog. The resorption velocity of NaI, T/sub 4/, and T/sub 3/ is not modified in the rat exposed five days before to a total x radiation dose of 800 r. (tr- auth)
