Li{sub 4}SrCa(SiO{sub 4}){sub 2} was investigated structurally and for Eu{sup +2} luminescence. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the compound is orthorhombic. Crystal parameters are presented and the structure is discussed. The Eu{sup 2+} doped material displays blue photoluminescence ({lambda}{sub max} 430 nm).
