Hall-effect study of YNi{sub 2}B{sub 2}C superconductor
- Institute for High Pressure Physics, Troitsk (Russian Federation)
Hall-effect and critical magnetic fields H{sub c2}(T) have been studied for YNi{sub 2}B{sub 2}C (prepared using high pressure technique) at H{le}130 kOe and 1.6{le}T{le}300K. The normal state Hall coefficient R{sub H} was found to be negative (R{sub H}={minus}.43 x 10{sup {minus}11} {Omega}cm/Oe at T=4.2 K and H=130 kOe) and slightly growing in absolute value with increase of temperature. The dependence of the Hall voltage on magnetic field in the mixed superconducting state shows no sign reversal as was observed earlier for some high-T{sub c} systems. The values of {vert_bar}{partial_derivative}H{sub c2}/{partial_derivative}T{vert_bar} and H{sub c2}(0) are found to be 4.8 kOe/K and 47 kOe respectively.
