The temperature and field dependences of the Hall coefficient R(T, H) and of the transverse magnetoresistance ..delta..rho/sub perpendicular/(H)/rho(0) of the magnetic Kondo lattice of CeAl/sub 2/ are studied. The measurements were performed on polycrystalline samples of CeAl/sub 2/ in the temperature range 1.8< or =T< or =300 K in a magnetic field H< or =40 kOe. It was found that as the temperature is decreased from Tapprox. =100 K to the temperature of the antiferromagnetic transition at Tapprox. =3.8 K the quantity R(T, H/sub 0/) increases by more than a factor of 4 (H/sub 0/< or =8 kOe). As the magnetic field H/sub 0/ is increased, the ratio r = R(T = 3.8 K, H/sub 0/)/R(T = 100 K, H/sub 0/) decreases and at H = H/sub 0/ = 40 kOe it is equal to rapprox.2. The magnetoresistance ..delta..rho/sub perpendicular/(H)/rho(0) is negative and assumes a maximum absolute magnitude at T = T/sub 0/approx. =3.7 K in a field of H = 16 kOe; the temperature T/sub 0/ decreases as H increases approximately at the rate dT/sub 0//dHapprox.0.058 K/kOe. The data obtained are analyzed within the framework of the model of the formation of the Abrikosov--Suhl resonance and the model of skew-scattering, leading to the anomalous Hall effect.
