The techniques for compounding a /sup 99m/Tc-sulfur colloid (/sup 99m/Tc minicolloid) and imaging of the lymphatic system are presented. A study comparing this small-particle radiocolloid with commercially available radiocolloids of larger particle size demonstrated the smaller to be a superior agent for lymphatic imaging, probably due to its more favorable migration through successive nodal groups. Advantages of /sup 99m/Tc minicolloid include same-day imaging, lower absorbed dose, and better resolution. (auth)
